Mulled #5 Apple Cider
Family, friends, food and gratitude - what more could you ask for this Thanksgiving season? Spice-up your celebrations with our favourite Mulled Apple Cider, a seasonal spin using our #5 Cold-Pressed Juice - a sweet, spicy mix of organic apples, lemon and ginger (the latter being a perfect aid in digesting that 2nd or 3rd helping!)
All you need is a bottle or two of our #5 juice, your favourite spices (we recommend any combination of whole cinnamon, clove, cardamom and nutmeg), and some heat. If you can’t be bothered to buy more ingredients, powder-form spices work too for a simpler (but still delicious!) version.
To make around 4 servings, you’ll want:
- 2 16oz bottles of Glory #5 cold-pressed juice
- 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
- 2 whole cloves
- ¼ teaspoon of freshly grated (or ground) nutmeg
Heat up a medium saucepan to moderately high heat - add the spices and toast until fragrant (around 2 minutes). Pour in the #5 and bring to a simmer, then reduce to low heat. Let cook for 20 minutes to an hour, letting the spices infuse into the juice.
Looking for something more boozy? Add a splash (or 2!) of your favourite cider-friendly liquor and let simmer on low heat for an additional 10 minutes prior to serving.
Strain out the spices, and you’re done!
