Why A Fall Cleanse Is Just What Your Body Needs

In Eastern medicine, Ayurveda teaches us that the transitional periods between the seasons (such as fall) are the best times to cleanse. Just like the trees, we must shed our leaves and cleanse before the winter to assist the body in the natural detoxification process that is already occurring and allow the body to reset itself.

In the fall, it's about slowing down and restoring the body. Resetting your digestive system, and balancing your mental and emotional health to transition into the cooler months feeling grounded and nourished. A fall cleanse will help to stave off seasonal colds, keep your immune system healthy, and prepare your organs for the colder months ahead.

Juice cleansing is a way to give our digestive system a rest, while flooding our bodies with the essential nutrients it needs. During a cleanse we reset digestive strength and the body’s natural detox pathways. This ensures our system doesn't get overwhelmed by a buildup of wastes or sluggish physiological systems.

Why Do a Fall Juice Cleanse?

  • Strengthen your immune system; become more resistant to illness.
  • Reduce summer’s accumulated heat to lessen inflammation.
  • Rejuvenate the liver to optimize the body’s metabolic processes.
  • Support sound sleep.
  • Promote regular elimination.
  • Prepares the tissues for deep nourishment and rejuvenation.
  • Reestablish one’s natural state of balance.

Don’t forget, If you’re still drinking coffee, sitting in front of the computer, and not getting at least 7-8 hours of quality sleep, a juice cleanse won’t be of much use. Along with cleansing, it's good to establish nourishing and rejuvenating practices during this time as well. Daily routines that include deep relaxation and meditation, dry body brushing, sweating, massage and reducing time on electronics will help us rebuild our depleted systems and most fully benefit from a cleanse.
